Tea Party
"It's tea time!" Little girls love to have tea time. Why not give them the real-deal instead of always playing pretend.
Invitations
- Fancy: Hand-deliver invitations in plastic tea cups and saucers. Print information on hand-made "tea bag", (Just cut paper into the shape of a tea bag).
- Or print information on a dollie, and send.
Attire
- Ask guests to wear "frilly" or summer dresses.
Decorations
- Simply use the items for the party as the centerpiece: Tea pot, sugar cubes, creamer, and plastic tea cups, or fine china, if the child is older and you want to risk it, and add a bouquet of flowers.
- Hang streamers.
Activities
- The party itself is the game! Just allow girls to "have tea".
- Ask guests to bring a guest (doll) and serve them tea, in doll-sized cups and tea pots.
- You can also hire a "European Maiden" to come and lead the party, bring "old English" style dresses, read stories, and take pictures.
Food
- Cup cakes, instead of a traditional cake are great for this party!
- Include in the centerpiece, or at a separate table, edibles to decorate the cupcakes.
- It is suggested to frost the cupcakes at the start of the party (so the frosting does not dry out). Use different flavors (colors) of frosting. Display sprinkles, letters, minced nuts, poppy seeds, and handout one candle to each guest, and three or one large candle to the birthday girl.
Party Tip: Keep age in mind when decorating. For younger girls, decorate using paper table cloths, and faux flower, or none at all.
