Baby Shower
There a few, equally important, life events to celebrate, such as the coming of a child. The Baby Shower is the one opportunity for all friends and family to unite and rejoice together.
Invitations
- For a baby shower, print invitations on a copy of a birth certificate.
- Send the invitations in baby bottles.
- Wrap baby booty in a box, with information in the booty, and send.
Decorations
- Keep it simple. Try sticking to a theme.
- Have guests bring gifts to match the theme in the baby's room.
- For instance, if the baby's room is going to be teddy bears:
- Have a teddy bear-shaped cake, and buy plates, napkins, etc. with teddy bears on it.
- The centerpiece could be different teddy bears, and flowers.
Activities
- Pass a decorative journal around so guests can write down words of wisdom.
- Play a name game. Have guests write down names for a boy and names for a girl on peel-off labels. Place the name on a page in a memoir book with the guests name on top. Have the mother-to-be choose her favorite boy and girl name, and give a prize to the winner (see below for prizes).
- The Mystery Food Game. Record the contents of eight to ten jars of baby food, such as carrots and apples. Remove labels and replace the corresponding number.
- Place the jars of baby food on a tray. Pass out tablets and pens/pencils to the guests. Allow each guest to inspect the tray of jars for 30 seconds, without opening.
- Guests then record what flavor they think is in each jar, by appropriate number. Have guests swap answer sheets and read the answers out loud. The guest with the most, correct answers wins a prize (see below for prizes).
Gift Ideas
- Functional gifts are best.
- GiftsCetera.com is a great location to purchase prizes and gifts for the mother-to-be.
- Gifts like bath sets or individual bath items. We suggest our L'Amande Wash Set or any of our many items from the baby selection at GiftsCetera.com.
Food
- A potluck or serve entrees buffet-style is best.
- Have a theme for your food, for example: Mexican, Italian or Greek.
Party Tip: At the start of the party, or at the entry point, have guests write down there name address, and phone numbers down for thank you notes.
